Edward Wong, CFA, MBA, CA
Edward lectures Levels I, II and III of the CFA curriculum. He currently also teaches in the undergraduate and the MBA program at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, and has as well taught at the Goodman Institute of Investment Management and at York University. He has won numerous teaching awards including the ‘Distinguished Teaching Award’, the ‘Dean’s Teaching Award for Excellence’, and the ‘Professor of the Year, MBA’ award at JMSB and the ‘Award for Teaching Excellence’ at York University. In addition to academic knowledge, Edward brings practical experience to the classroom. He held the position of Senior Investment Officer for a $10 billion Pension Fund and prior to this, was a tax specialist with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Joel Kaczor, M.Sc.
Joel has a M.Sc. in finance from HEC Montreal where he also served as a teaching assistant and lecturer. Recently, he passed all 3 levels of the CFA Exam. Joel is currently working at Letko Brosseau & Associates as a fixed income research analyst. His areas of expertise include; Debt markets & fixed income, macroeconomics, financial analysis and investment strategies.
Master’s degree in Finance from University of Sherbrooke and has completed his CFA Exams. He also has the CSC and Options Supervisor licenses from the Canadian Securities Institute.
Peter Filippakis, CFA
Peter brings over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry to his role as Investment Counsellor. Prior to joining CI Private Counsel, Peter held a variety positions at the National Bank of Greece (NBG), the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC).
Peter is a CFA Charterholder, holds the Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designations and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI). Peter is also a registered candidate of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators where he is pursuing accreditation as a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV).
Natalya is currently working at Cycle Capital Management as VP Finance and Admin and has been there since November 2013. Prior to that, she worked in Business Valuation and Audit at MNP for 2 years and at Statistics Canada for 5 years.
Natalya has her CFA; CPA, CA in Canada and the U.S. CPA designations. She did her undergraduate degree in Finance at Concordia and her graduate degree at McGill in Accountancy. She also completed her CFA and CPA with Morgan International and passed all her exams on the first attempt.
Costa earned a double major in Finance and Accountancy from John Molson School of Business. In 2014, he graduated with distinction and was awarded the The Ross Medal for Accountancy.
He subsequently completed all three levels of the CFA Program on his first attempt, and completed the Canadian Securities Course. Costa currently works on the sell side as Debt Capital Markets Analyst, and he is a Level III Candidate in the Chartered Market Technicians Program.
Steven is an Associate VP in Account Management at BCA Research, an investment research firm covering all asset classes across the globe. In his role, he interacts with asset managers across North America to relay insights ranging from macro and geopolitical trends to fundamental individual stock analyses.
Steven received the CFA Designation after passing all three levels of the CFA Program on the first attempt, preparing for each level with the help of Morgan International. He completed his undergraduate degree in Economics & Finance at McGill University. Passionate about learning and motivational strategies, Steven’s goal is to help Candidates gain the necessary skills in the most thorough and efficient manner to ultimately pass every level of the CFA Program.
